The North Coventry Police Department took a chance with an October date for their third annual Fallen Heroes Auto Show and despite having to opt for a rain date, everything came together in the end.

The Sunday, Oct. 5 event at the Coventry Mall was originally scheduled for one day earlier but with rain in the forecast, a decision was made on Friday to reschedule the show for Sunday. Every effort was made using all means available to notify car enthusiasts of the date change and despite conflicting shows elsewhere, the Fallen Heroes show was “the place to be” for an auto show on that date.

The day started out on the chilly side but under pleasant skies and gradually warming temperatures. Over 200 vehicles turned out for the competition and with the help of Patriot GMC, the anticipated donation to the Keystone Wounded Warriors looks to exceed $10,000. A noteworthy effort indeed.

The show featured something for every automotive buff: antiques, classics, trucks, motorcycles and the ever-popular street rods. Well over 50 trophies were awarded at day’s end.
