Opportunity House of Reading hosted its first Invitational Exotic Auto Show and Rally for Opportunity on Sunday.
The auto show, which ran from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., was at Audi/Volkswagen of Reading in Bern Township.
The road rally left the dealership at 1 p.m. and toured five covered bridges before ending at the Boyertown Museum of Historical Vehicles.
Kate Alley, Opportunity House’s chief development officer, said that about 20 cars participated in the show and about 20 participated in the rally.
Among the cars were Ferraris, Porsches and other exotic cars, Alley said.
“It was our first year, and we were really excited about the quality of cars we got,” she said. “I hope we can get more next year, but being our first year, we are really pleased with what we had this year.”
The event was designed to raise money and awareness for Opportunity House. The total raised was unavailable Sunday night.
“We thought this would be a great opportunity to not only raise some money but to reach a new group of people to tell them the Opportunity House story and get them involved and hopefully get some volunteers at the end of the day,” Alley said.
She said the hope is to make the show and rally an annual event.
