The Girl Scouts in Service Unit 324 Southeast Schuylkill are conducting their annual Make a Difference Day project for Oct. 24.

Along with the Schuylkill Child Development Center in Pottsville, Girl Scouts seek to provide school supplies to those children who use the program.

Last year, the members of Service Unit 324 collected enough materials to fill 250 bags. This year’s goal is to fill 500 “chool bags with items that students need to complete daily school work. These items include; 8-pack crayons (large size); 10-packs of markers (broad line); child safety scissors; glue sticks; quart size zipper plastic storage bags.

Anyone in the community can help! Individuals, community organizations and businesses who want to contribute can contact Service Unit 324 on Facebook at Heart of PA – Service Unit 324 or by emailing Robison.melanie@hotmail.com.

Donated items can be dropped off at 36 St. John Street in Schuylkill Haven or 753 East Mountain Road in Hegins.

Donations must be in by Friday, Oct. 16, in preparation for assembling the bags.
