On Nov. 17, the Leesport American Legion Auxiliary Unit 906 celebrated its 60th anniversary with a luncheon at Moselem Springs Restaurant.Mrs. Charlene Greib, secretary, had charge of the affair.

A table of memorabilia dating back to 1947 was displayed.

The original bell and flags were there along with the charter, treasurer’s book and secretary notes.

A photo album of events, along with a scrapbook of newspaper clippings of all events, parades, dances, meetings, etc. were displayed. There was also several newspapers the Post 906 put out pertaining to local events.

Each member attending received a single red rose in a decorated bottle, plus an American Legion Auxiliary pin.

Mrs. Betty Krause and Mrs. Goldy Spayd received a 60 year pin noting their years of service.

Mrs. Krause has been treasurer since 1949, except for one year as President.

Also in attendance were: Mrs. Clara McMullen; Mrs. Ruth Seip; Mrs. Mildred Snyder; Mrs. Virginia Santilli; and Mrs. Goldy Spayd, all past presidents.

Also in attendance, Mrs. Lorena Edinger, Mrs. Josephine Trois, Mrs. Wanda Heydt, Mrs. Arline Rothermel, Mrs. Charlene Greib, Mrs. Judy Wert, Mrs. Mary Jane Kaufman, Mrs. Beth Snyder and Mrs. Rachael Rentschler.
